Review: Fredflare Staple-free stapler

Recently tried the staple-free stapler from fredflare. the description sounded super cute and I just had to get it!! :D

The stapler weaves the papers together thus doing away with the need for staplers. it basically punctures out a flap and a hole and 'sew' the flap in to the hole. Sounds complicated huh? It works just like a normal stapler, just that it has a additional step. The user just slides the paper in, presses the stapler down and pulls the stapler towards you. The last step pushed the flap into the opening. (:

Conclusion after playing with it for a while: fun to play but not practical. it can only staple up to 4 pieces of paper at a time and does not provide much support. However, to increase the hold, i stapled a few more times and made it into something like a binded document. it does get the 'oooohs' and the 'ahhhhs' from people cause it isnt that common yet.

Cost: $15 from Fredflare
Verdict: wont be getting one even if the one i have spoils.

*For people who like novelty items, i found a supplier who can provide at a much cheaper rate. email me for more details.*

Review: Kao Liese Bubble Hair Dye

I recently tried out the Bubble Hair Colour that seemed quite popular.

Usage was fairly simple. A lot of foam was produced, one bottle was enough to cover my long hair and my mummy's short hair. i got a little tired of squeezing out the foam after a little while; it seemed never ending!

i used the dark chocolate one which is supposed to be suitable for wavy/curly hair. the colour is noticeable, but not as shiny as i hoped it to be. it really is very subtle.

I dont dye my hair often and the only other brand that i tried was revlon. Compared to Revlon, i felt that the bubble hair dye was very damaging to my hair. the conditioner given was a leave-on which did not seem to provide much nutrients. ):

it took quite a number of washes to get the dye out of my hair. the water still had a tint of yellow after 4 rinses.

Note: this product does not cover white hair! the box explicitly said so. my mummy bought it without reading the box and her white hair is still obvious.

Price: $16.50 from Chinatown. (Watsons selling for $19.90)
Verdict: might try other colour if there's discount but prepare own conditioner.
