Only Aesthetics QPX - 1 month after session 1

I have survived 1 month of shaving. haha.

i can say for certain that the first session really did not have much impact. so please for those who intend to go for permanent hair removal, DO NOT EPILATE OR USE ANY CREAM. just shave! 


The treatments are supposed to target the roots of the hair. Epilation or hair removal cream destroys the roots. Hence, the effectiveness of the treatment will definitely be affected.

I still cannot conclude on the effectiveness of QPX. Cant wait for my next session.

Yongku did alert me to a good point. Only Aesthetics did not do a sensitivity check on my skin before zapping it or applying the gel.
They must be very confident that their product will not cause any bad reactions. To be on the safe side, girls with sensitive skin better ask about their products before committing to any packages. <3

Review: HTC Incredible S

I lost my Iphone 4 last month so I got a HTC Incredible S.

What I like about it:

1. Android system - the android system is so easy to play around. i could change the theme and lock screen easily. I did not have to jailbreak the phone to customise it.

What I dont like about it:


Function/Usage: 

1. TOOOOOOO laggish. I have yet to try other android phones so im not sure if its the software or the hardware of the phone. Regardless, it is starting to piss me off. Even something as simple as typing an SMS is sooo frustrating. it lags so badly at times.
2. it is soo hard to take a screenshot. I have yet to find out how. i went through some forums but it seems too troublesome. :x it is soooo much easier on a iphone
3. the iphone camera has a wider angle... no more group shots with this phone. 
4. i cannot see the name of the carrier. if i put my phone on silent i dont know if im roaming or not. i dont know if this can be solved with a rooted phone tho.
5. music apps cannot be switched off easily. in the iphone 4, music apps can be switched off by holding the home button and flipping to the right. however, in htc incredible S, only the music player can be switched off that easily. the music player can be switched off by pulling down the menu and tapping on the pause button. However, for all other apps, like the radio, i need to tap into the app before i can off it. a bit too troublesome for my liking.

Personalisation: 

1. HTC sense. some really love the system, but not me. i prefer to be able to customise the bottom row of standard icons like in a iphone. i would also like to see what apps are in a folder. fortunately, i could easily download a app to change the theme and customise the home page.
2. i also dont like the fact that i cannot customise the quick setting in the pull down menu. I had to download a app which is triggered by holding the search button to customise the settings that i wanted.

Form:

1. Battery life. really sucks. worse than Iphone. sometimes, it cannot even last 3 hours. i have to carry the cable everywhere and i bought a spare battery.
2. the casing is plastic which is a lot less classy than the iphone (i do feel less guilty when i drop my HTC. haha.)
3. Ultimately, HTC incredible S is not a flagship model. It was meant to be a cheaper alternative. I can live with its quirks for its price. I only paid $58 with a 2 year Starhub contract. :)

Only Aesthetics QPX - session 1

Went for my first session on the scheduled time. I spent some time getting lost actually. Walked all the way to concorde hotel from dohby gaut. You are supposed to cross the road to parklane mall. It is just beside. It is a old looking mall without much traffic flow.

I had to wait for a while because the receptionist was trying to get the customers before me to sign a package. I experienced it too but more about it later..

Apparently, ppl are not supposed to epilate, pluck the hair up to 3 weeks before the session. I was only supposed to shave. The cjina lady who set up the appointment did not tell me this!! She didn't appear too apologetic about it either.
I didn't want to wait for another 2 weeks, so I just went ahead with the treatment. The receptionist also okayed the treatment.

I was asked to change into a white tube robe and a lady smeared gel and started to zap away. I felt a bit of pain but it was super super slight.
The more you feel, the more hair is being zapped away.

The whole zapping process took less than 5 mins.

After I changed out, I proceeded to the receptionist and started trying to get me to sign for a monrhly package instead of a bi- monthly package. The upgrade cost 100+++, can't remember the exact.
I would rather get another "unlimited" package from other company than sign the upgrade.

It has been 4 days since my first session... I haven't seen significant results.. hair still growing as per normal .

The road to planning a 21st birthday celebration: the venue

I have actually considered holding it in a chalet.

Most chalets are over $150 because I am holding it on a Saturday. I am a poor kid. $150 is too much for one night. :(

The Mindef one is super pretty and affordable but they dont allow bookings for only one night. The Treehouse @ Changi looks really nice. Too bad I won't be able to hold it there. :(

The road to planning a 21st birthday celebration: the cake

I  really want a fondant cake, but it costs soo much! Hence, I have compromised (the battle of the brain and the heart). I will get a 3D cake. I want one which incorporates my dream car: the vintage Volkswagen  Beetle. <3

No idea how the bakers are going to do it but I have emailed a few already.

On the list are Yiling confectionery, fat lady cakes and a few more home bakers.

I am on a awesomely tight budget. I would be a happy girl if I can get it for less than $100.

Alternative includes heartland bakeries. For the celebration, form over function. I want a pretty cake! Not too particular about taste. haha.

The road to planning a 21st birthday celebration: the venue

It is hard to plan a birthday celebration. There are so many considerations and concerns.

I wanted the celebration to be small and with my close friends. However, the number grew to almost 30. No, I am not Miss Popular. It's just hard to not invite people because we hang out in a clump. This is especially so for friends made in CCAs. How would you explain to those who are not invited when they see the photos?

With the number, it is hard to hold it at my own home. My mum is almost insisting that I move it out to a Condo function room or a chalet. She says she is going to pay. But this is going to be deducted from my birthday present. I WANT MY BIRTHDAY PRESENT. Who cares if the guests are going to feel squeezed?

My family is making this celebration into a party, when it is not. I dont want fancy places or awesome food. I just want people to be there while I cut my cake.

Anyhow, given that my mama is going to pay for my life for the next 2 years, I think I better start looking for a venue.

I can hold it at a condo function room.. but I somehow feel that it would defeat the purpose of a small celebration. It would create expectations which I have no intentions of fulfilling.

The price is cheap and the location is good.

I just called to set up a appointment. A China lady picked up. I doubt she understands English very well. She switched the conversation to Mandarin without even asking if I can speak Mandarin.

The place is pretty popular. I only managed to get a appointment nearly 2 weeks after.

There are a few reviews on blogs but I cant help but feel that they are sponsored. haha.
